Ghent is a city in Belgium that has been described as authentic yet unpolished. I believe this mixed-media painting fits that description as well. In fact, I imagine there will be people who see it and wonder why I didn't finish it. It is finished however, at least as finished as any piece of art is. It may be understated or feel unpolished, but it can add a sense of freedom and creative spirit to any space.
